Kumvenji Lamba Attends the African Training Institute Workshop in Kigali, Rwanda

The Assistant Registrar responsible for administration, Mr. Kumvenji Lamba, recently attended a training course on the “Development of Strategic Plans, Policy Formulation, and Effective Implementation of Donor-Funded Projects.” The course was organised by the African Training Institute and held in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 8th to 19th, 2024.

Lamba has expressed his satisfaction with the valuable knowledge gained from the training, which covered various topics, including strategic plan development, strategic leadership development, policy development and implementation, and critical strategic management success factors. He particularly appreciated the face-to-face method used during the training, which facilitated interactive sessions and hands-on learning.  He also commended the trainers, who were highly knowledgeable and engaging, providing insights and practical knowledge directly applicable to the University, ensuring the training's effectiveness. 

The Centre for Resilience Agri-food Systems (CRAFS) fully funded the trip, and Lamba expressed his gratitude to the Centre’s leadership for their support. He remarked, “The knowledge and skills I acquired will immensely benefit my Assistant Registrar (Administration) role. The training has equipped me with strategies and tools to enhance our strategic planning, policy formulation, and project implementation processes, ultimately contributing to the betterment of our institution.”

The training and Rwanda's vibrant culture and development enriched the delegates, including Lamba. Activities like visits to the lake and museum added a unique dimension to the training days, fostering a sense of connection and enrichment. The training concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participants, marking the successful culmination of this enriching experience.
