Our postgraduate programmes include taught master's courses encompassing biotechnology and chemical engineering research, business and management bioscience, MPhil by research and PhD opportunities in research groups or the Doctoral Training Centre for Senior Technologies.
Key Research Areas
Agri-food Systems & Nutrition
There are seven focus areas under this theme:- reviewing the existing databases
- looking at data quality and validation
- utilisation of the Integrated House Survey
- integrated political economy knowledge
- vulnerability of data systems
- experimental-based research.
Statistical Analysis, Foresight & Data Management
- This focuses on four thematic areas:
- food production,
- post-harvest handling and processing,
- food utilisation
- the commodity value chain.
Agricultural Risk Management & Climate Change Proofing
This theme focuses on strengthening and enhancing capacity in the following seven categories:- 1) guidance on farming choices,
- 2) climate modelling – divided into a three-dimensional grid of cells, representing specific geographic locations and elevations,
- 3) crop yield estimation techniques,
- 4) evaluating food system transformation through small scale fisheries,
- 5) weather index-based crop insurance,
- 6) small agriculture and farm water utilisation,
- 7) community leadership engagement.
