Mupu Chonzi Attends Training in Human Resources Information Systems

Mupu Chonzi, the University of Malawi’s Senior Human Resource Manager, recently attended a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) training course in Kigali, Rwanda. The training, organised by the African Training Institute (ATI), aimed to streamline Human Resources processes, enhance data accuracy, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The training included lectures, discussions, and practical exercises using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Chonzi mentioned that some topics covered during the training were an introduction to HRIS, HRIS and manpower planning in organisations, HRIS critical requirements, HRIS development and implementation issues, training models, and an evaluation of HRIS, including its costs and benefits.

“All the topics covered were highly relevant and addressed the key issues that needed attention,” she said.

Chonzi thanked the Centre for Resilience Agri-food Systems (CRAFS) for sponsoring her training attendance, which she believes benefits the University of Malawi. She said, “The training is beneficial not only to me as an individual but also to the entire University of Malawi as we strive for excellence. The knowledge gained is of great use and value to my work.”od Systems (CRAFS) for sponsoring her training attendance, which she believes benefits the University of Malawi.
