Master of Science in Biological Sciences

Duration : 3 - 5 Years Credits : 180

This programme builds capacity in biological sciences for key sectors such as the environment, water, climate, health and rural development. The programme has a duration of 2 years.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related disciplines obtained from accredited institutions of higher learning.

Program Structure

Students will be required to attend and participate in regular seminars, reading exercises and presentations, offer tutorials to BSc students, and attend to other scholarly activities. Students will be assigned at least two supervisors to work with and if they are deficient in some areas they will be required to take courses in such area(s). In the first place with guidance from the supervisors, students will write and defend a proposal before an assessment team. Before submitting an examinable thesis students will be required to present their preliminary results for comments. The students will be examined through a viva voce.
