Jimmy Kainja, MRes

Jimmy Kainja is CRAFS’s Communication and Public Relations Coordinator and a lead on the community leadership engagement component. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malawi, teaching Media, Communication and Cultural Studies. His areas of academic and research interest are media and communications policy, journalism, new media, digital rights, freedom of expression, access to information and the intersection between media, democracy and development. Recently, he has been a co-investigator on two projects: My Vaccine, Our Protection, which aims at debunking misinformation and disinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, and Covid-19 and Mental Health in Malawi, investigating the impact of COVID-19 in the country.
